I think the space would be enough for the console games. =\ Like a PSone plugged and there u have it!

yeah... in fact, just fit perfectly, dun go for arcade la of course.. console like PS or Xbox is just nice. with a few TV sets

Yeah!! gaming room in Swinburne!! but when? how? i guess its not gonna happen huh...

I think appeals are needed for the gain of approval > game room that is.

Higher-ups' reasons for not approving:
1. You can have your own L.A.N. parties.
2. If we're to approve then it is implied that we're to responsible for the game room, which is impossible. (Consoles and expensive stuffs.)
3. There is the student lounge. Go ask SSSC on this matter.
4. Why ask us about this sort of matter? It's your own problem. We prioritize what matters most for majority of students.

Never bothered, 'cause I don't even frequent the lounge. How's the facilities in Sibu's UCS? Maybe they can't afford open labs and sport equipments like we do, so they opened a 'game' room.

Abide by rules. Would be fine with board games + chess like last time. Carom etc.

Board games + chess... these day who will play that kind of games if you have laptop and paid wifi/3G?
What I think about this Game Room idea is to use the empty classroom as L.A.N game room. Each room has it's own game. Meaning all will be enjoying their own games without interruption from others game.
Bring own laptop and ownz every1 with swinburne server. So they won't be any lag as an excuse of lose.
I know most of the students does that even during lecture period >.<
You don't play games for ur own ego, play to build up good relationship with other players.

Console games cost too much since you need LCD TV, PS3, WII, XBOX and all controller, guitar ..etc.

L.A.N. = needs switches = switches need electricity = electricity needs $$ / equipments die faster / network propagating virus risk / broken furniture due to hormonal rage

ya i agree with you, because teenagers are very excited when win and went berserk when lose, especially immature behavior. It may lead to fight sometimes. Now I can see the situation because I seem that before during my time in hostel, fight due to game called Dota/CS and talk all vulgar words in the room. Who need that kind of gamers be your friend? hell no such inconsiderate about others !

Pros and newbs are different. That's why you should find good players with tolerable attitude or even better. But the majority of newbs type will actually go emo or really bad one. It's a matter of difference.

Good players that are really good will play games accepting wins and loses. Not like lose then quit that game. It's commonly weak thoughts that supports the weak minded.

Just some advise though, game rooms with fun games shud be enuff. Not those very hardcore genre types. Like sports

Retro: UCS kinda lame as far as I know. After I visited there a few years ago, the only coolest facility is the game room. Their education standard sucks hard...

Using ad-hoc system will be find for us for L.A.N. games. Maybe we should bring our own modems/routers for a better performance. Like I do with my Aztech ADSL2+ Wireless. Any will do.

I used a gas tank to save my friend from a hunter: blow it up, "accidentally".
Apparently, that was the only time I used the gas tank effectively.
