Somehow I get adjusted to forums whenever there is a change of layout. XD.

I reckon something more simple would do. Old one is also good. Even the older ones also can do. Anything goes for me as long as I can mod properly.

i'll work for it if you want help apple. i can redesign the site. (no graphic content though...im not multimedia student...im Computing student...good at templating and css...but give up on creating icons etc >.>)
btw just ideas, why not put a competition to redesign this website? (team based)
also considering people have different taste in coloring, why not add more than 1 template?people can just pick their favorite themes?

cheers for the admin though, good job on new template...but please add more choice to the user ;D

but the disavantage of this forum is cant allow user change the skin them like..like friendster,or....

for skin template comp...we need to have some internal discussion...

because of the limited of the forum, we are hard to please everyone..
we do appreciate what comments you ppl give...
we will listen and work through it...

Actually we have discussed before we implement.
I admit that I suggested not to use dark color for the following reason :

• Black color are too common (I think many forum used black color)
  
• We've use it before (I mean black)
  
• I choose bright cause we are all in uni, Dark color looks underground (just my opinion)
  
• Bright color make me feel refreshing
  
• etc and etc
  

To make a forum layout look good or nice is not one or two days works. (I mean for us)
Even last time i change the dark one to the green one take me about 2 weeks. Maybe some of you dint realize it cause you are not yet born as member... XD. So we will work hard along the way and from time to time. Ofcoz we wanted all the forum member being happy and relax park themself in this forum too

Anyway, I personally really appreciate all you you being supportfull towards this forum and give us all the suggestion and opinion, and Apple. Atleast she have the motivation and initiative to taking this task, try to change the design and make improvement.

not claiming im expert in css...im still learning also. but at least got work experience designing css from scratch or editing template (my previous work dealing with front end web >.>)

multiple css template is possible...but either using javascript / php with your cookies...which i dont know how yet..

maybe tomorrow i'll go to sssc room to discuss things with alex (btw my name is also alex ...this going to be confusing XD)

I did talked to highfantasy earlier, and I suggested a change of forum's system, AKA changing to phpBB or others which already have different templates to use and also, enables each user to change to their own template style. Just a suggestion but porting over will require a lot of work and also, with the new system which chin ann has implemented, will be lost due to different system.

Just a suggestion which I deem a lil inappropriate unless everyone agrees. Will be time consuming also.

The question is, will users even bother to change the style? IMO creating and updating different styles would be hard work, not to mention migrating to new system. Since we're not doing this for profit, it'll be pointless to spend so much effort.

what about the entertainment section?

Though it may not please everyone, but we're trying our best.
As this forum now, it's layout and design is only operated by only one person.
But IMO, i believe this layout is quite nice.
Its not too striking or too dark, the sections to me doesnt seem like it has changed much since the previous one.

As we know, the main function of the forum isnt about the layout, rather its about having interaction between the users. What we should really focus on is spreading the word of the forum, making the forum more active. We need more members to be involved in this forum. And we really appreciate your help.

We will use this layout for now first, give us more time, changes will happen.

planning to make background skin and layout like that. (night skin, white text color, gray transparent 1x1 pixel for table background)
also planning to create Mirror Edge skin (solid color, red text with sky blue background and cloud, still in draft process..)
nature skin also in progress (vines, light green and dark green object, yellow sunshine, transparent black 1x1 pixel table background, white / ocean blue text)

sadly...im no multimedia student...it will takes time to do this...
