Forum's look and feel. Need your feedback!

Well...i have implement new templete for the whole design and it is totally opposite color scheme on the current one..
I still waiting for other council member to vote weather we should change or remain the same just change some part of the design...

basically the color scheme will be : White & Greenish (No special meaning for green but because i like it, it look fresh and natural to me.. Very Happy

)

I think that looks better than the current one...
But the banner, i still prefer something like Swintalk's one. It looks more appealing to me.

Maybe we'll have the design students do it next time if you want.

Swintalk's design is oriented towards blog. We won't need such 'flair' for a forum. The new design is good and intuitive enough. No 'clown pants' effect. Plus the forum's server is much busier than Swintalk's so the contents would have to be small and fast to download.

Well....
as RetroMayday said, forum is mainly for discussion and information, and it wiill be burden if we put too much design on it..
End up i think we will get complain bout failed to load img such a things....
Besides, The color scheme are basically simple scheme, and if we put too complex img then it might spoil the atmosphere of the forum...

Anyway, i am multimedia student, but still not really good in design...

Well...probably you need to make ur resolution higher than your current one...
i really cant figure out whats is the problem. I am not sure it will be good or not if you use IE7...

The Main Body Frame is 90% which mean 90% width of your resolution and the banner itself is 800 pixel in width....

Well, it never happened before. After you changed the font size, that happened. Other websites, forums and so forth works fine.

I think it's better than the current one, simple and clean.

I do agree with Ajay on the white. Noticed it right off, might be a bit hard on the eyes.

That would equate to my FF2 and 3, Opera and IE6 broken.

I've upper the resolution and it looks better. Then again, I would prefer to stick to 1024 ress since I'm on CRT, which is the optimum resolution it goes, unlike LCD at 75Hz.
