Please share your experience and thoughts regarding Windows 7 and Vista.

Both of them are fine

Window XP for now, but I heard that many said Window 7 runs faster compared to Vista.

Vista that should have been = Win7. Plus 7 works better in multithreaded environment.

windows 7 is much stable than Vista.
Performance Win7 does not require higher spec. to support it.
For program compatible - so far program which can run vista that can be run in Win7 as well.
Some Winxp program can be support as well, as Win7 quite compatible with those program. Unless those program consider too old type and might not compatible with Win7...

I heard that Microsoft tries to make Win 7 like XP but with the look of Vista. My fren tried out the beta but we don't like it much. Better wait for the official edition.

actually Windows 7 Evaluation Version consider final edition.. or you can try Win7 RTM (Release To Manufacture) edition..

We need to upgrade at some point, like it or not. Win7 is intended to perform like XP with improved NT6 (aka Vista) architecture.

Stick with what OS you like. But the general viewpoint is that 7 is better than Vista. And it should be the OS choice for new systems on general availability (depending on the price). Improvements made in 7 should trickle down to Vista.

Yup. Still running a rig on Win98se in my room.

Me too! K6-2 400 with 128MB, MVP4 IGP and 2.5GB HDD. Accelerates DVD video really nicely. Too bad its DVD drive just broke.

K6-2. Now thats one old horse. Mine only has CD drive, but I can watch 720p quite well on my win98se, abit needing to pause it a few mins before playing it. Haha.
