| We all know there are problems even in Swinburne. For those of you who get laptop, windows VSTAR cannot install the VPN connection and the management is trying to solve the problem as soon as possible. So for those who want to fully utilize the wireless in internet, please use windows XP for the moment. |

| Boss, its VISTA, not VSTAR.
They should upgrade their cisco server side client. _________________ Learn From The Past, Live The Present, Plan For The Future Team mD Moderator よろしくおねがいします~

| They should just use an Open RADIUS server running on unix for wifi authentication. |

| Has anyone been noticing that there is currently a wireless network in Swinburne called "SwinWifi"? Could it be that we're finally looking at a wifi network for Swinburne students? _________________ The object of war is not to die for your country, but to make the other bastard die for his. ~George Patton

| If I remember correctly, SwinWifi has been on for some time... and quite a long time at that too... probably weeks. |

| Depends. Though work experience, I've setup 40 PC, including LAN wiring *become spiderman* and configuration of a Red Hat server, took me 3 days, with help from my supplier and another friend of ours. _________________ Learn From The Past, Live The Present, Plan For The Future Team mD Moderator よろしくおねがいします~

| Yea. 40 pcs to red hat server already 3 days. let's say, 1000 pcs for a start. It should take about 25 working days to install by one person. Say 4 persons working on it. Should cut down deployment time to about 7 days or so, and that's hypothetically. But, we still have not counted in delays (especially with 1k pcs... supplier sure take their time sending the stuff over).
furthermore, staff take leave, + other external/internal factors, it's a safe bet that some1 can finish the task in about 3 weeks - 1 month. |

| Definitely. And they should. There's so much competition in freelancing that you have to put up your best, if not no one will want to take up your service. |

| In any case, one thing that I'm aiming for is that there won't be that many "restrictions" planned in the future. Haha ~ imagine what was it like when Youtube and Friendster were first banned. And another thing ~ does anyone know how to torrent in Swinburne? _________________ The object of war is not to die for your country, but to make the other bastard die for his. ~George Patton

| With all ports closed except port 80, torrents will never work, unless you use a bypass proxy, which, I will not say anything about it. _________________ Learn From The Past, Live The Present, Plan For The Future Team mD Moderator よろしくおねがいします~
