| I've been wanting to buy a new external hard disk but I'm inexperienced in buying these come of stuff. I'm looking for a 1 TB size external hard disk for a cheap price. Can you suggest me the location to buy it and say something about the price of the hard disk. However, if there is no 1TB external hard disk, then i can settle for a 500GB hard disk. I only have an offer of 500 GB at RM 370 I need a price to beat it.. Thanks in advance _________________ Top Favourite Quotes From My Favourite NeighbourYou have a lot of audacity to go touch my stuff, don't you? .... Why are you having dinner at MY house? | What sort of size do you want? If you want a total backup solution then it's 3.5in. Or if you want mobility, 2.5in and below. 3.5in 1TB sell for over RM300. It's a rule that the smaller the form factor the higher cost/GB it is. 500GB for RM370 is 2.5in drive I believe? Only mainstream 3.5in (desktop) drive has 1TB if I'm not mistaken. There's a PC sales and service thread in the Trade & Market Section here. The seller's a good guy. Done some trading with him. _________________ |

| 2.5 inches, the largest so far is 750GB, but they cost a bomb. 500GB alone cost over rm300. _________________ Learn From The Past, Live The Present, Plan For The Future Team mD Moderator よろしくおねがいします~

| make it easier: Desktop 1th drive, selling around rm370 Laptop 500GB drive, around rm5xx if I'm not mistaken. I haven't got any updates from my supplier since no one request for it and I'm also one of them. ;D desktop hdd casing, rm50-150 depending on quality, built and stuff.... laptop hdd casing, rm50 - 100, depends on quality. Casing wise, I usually but a better one cause I have experience casing spoiling my hdd or the casing itself goes bust. _________________ Learn From The Past, Live The Present, Plan For The Future Team mD Moderator よろしくおねがいします~

| Lance, well, i'm aiming for both, but i guess it's too early to go looking for 1 TB satriakid, which is more likely to get more damage the 3.5 or 2.5? _________________ Top Favourite Quotes From My Favourite NeighbourYou have a lot of audacity to go touch my stuff, don't you? .... | For me, I'm more into "end-result" kinda decision so I would opt for file storage size. I'm also looking for 1 TB hdd but not that urgent at the moment, still patient enough to wait for price drops XD Well the money is yours, it's your call. _________________ No one knows everything, and everyone knows something a bit different from others. | I'm wary about cheap casings too, since one of my friend's one went bust on the first switch on. Luckily the HDD survives. Ready made external drives might be cheaper (compared to third party high grade casing) from what I heard, and you get 2-in-1 warranty for both casing and drive. Casing is high grade also so no worry. _________________ |

| 3.5 would be so much cheaper.. still, 500Gb would be long to use up so i can save up for a 1 Tb A huge blow for me cause i'm a penny pincher T.T _________________ Top Favourite Quotes From My Favourite NeighbourYou have a lot of audacity to go touch my stuff, don't you? .... | 1tb now is quite cheap already... depends on the brand and casing brand... a good one can cost up to rm400... if 500gb, super cheap(talking about 3.5)....the hard disk cost around rm180(excluding casing)..... btw ts, you said you have an offer of rm370 for 500gb if for 2.5 including the casing... fairly good price. |

| Lol. Congrats then. Casing wise, look at the internal build quality. I prefer it the HDD is held steady inside and also, have good soldering and stuff. _________________ Learn From The Past, Live The Present, Plan For The Future Team mD Moderator よろしくおねがいします~
