Microsoft Windows 7 Thread

Tom's Guide: Windows 7 Pre-Beta, Unveiled

Looking real nice. For those still complaining how it resembles Vista, it IS an improvised Vista, with lots of features and optimizations. x.1 versions of Windows are the best. bounce

Consider it ran "flawlessly" on a system with spec lower than what you can run vista during the demo, I'd say it's definitely an improvement.

Until 7 is out, I'll find myself playing with Ubuntu and Beryl.

One thing, the multi-touch will be of no use if we don't have a touch screen right? I always fancy having 2 mouse and 2 cursor though.

I linked Tom's Guide already in the first post.

Mr. Sinofsky had Win7 running in a netbook. It shows how flexible is Win7 to able to run on netbooks to server clusters.

Yeah, window 7 looks alike vista clone but guess what...i've jz found out that some people that likes window xp alot won't get along well wif window 7... Surprised The source that i've read said that window 7 is the window xp simple version or can i say shortcut version...in other words things or setup that with long steps in window xp had been cut short in window 7... cyclops

Considering how Win7 can run on netbooks, I might just like it. Finally, no useless junks to hamper my gaming performance!

I'd attribute the extra responsiveness and shorter setup/boot to better implementation of multi threading. But I doubt less geeky consumers would care about it. WinXP is here to stay, but gamers and geeks would undoubtedly migrate to Win7. The enhanced NT6 kernel would support new techs, provide better performance and componentization, something that Vista falters a bit. I'd rank Win7 next to WinXP and Win98SE.
