It's either my PCIe 1.1 speed or CPU that's causing the slowdown. Not satisfied. Must break 10k without OC'ing GPU.

My theory is that AMD GPU's require certain amount of CPU time in order to optimize code through its JIT compiler. We all know that the current architecture relies on software to properly optimize for its 5D shader.

Well, the older PCI-E works till 1.1e, but newer ones are at 2.0, where there is more bandwidth as well as speed.

So, I reckon your card is a 2,0 but the slot is 1.1e, hence slower. This includes slower clockspeed as 2.0 runs at 2.5Ghz while 1x is around 1.25Ghz

This is because of the controller which is only can provide so much. CPU cycle does not really matter much since the CPU can take it.

I planned to test it again on a friend's PCIe 2.0 board on holidays. Just hoping it'll reach the typical SM3.0 score of 5000+. Meanwhile, enjoying my new MW2 graphics at max.
